Message from the Superintendent of Schools

Cynthia M. Randina

As the new school year commences, it is a time of new beginnings for all of us, especially our students who have opportunities to renew relationships with peers and teachers, and to try their very best to succeed. With this in mind, our staff is committed to meeting their individual needs, and providing them with a positive learning environment in which they can flourish.

To continue to prepare students to be successful in the challenging 21st Century environment, while meeting the rigorous academic requirements of federal and state departments of education, the Board, our administration, supervisors, along with our teachers continue to plan effective instructional programs that are academically challenging. Our goal is to meet and exceed the Department of Education's Core Curriculum Content Standards through enriched learning opportunities. Through "Connected Classrooms", many of our teachers are effectively integrating technology so that learning becomes more meaningful for our students.  As we look towards the future, our goal is to have this capability in all of our classrooms. To ensure students' success, the support and involvement of parents and guardians is essential. In each one of our schools, there exists a Code of Behavior that we ask all in the school community to support so that we can maximize instructional time for our students.

In closing, the most precious commodity in our community is our youngsters. Therefore, we must always remember to put our children first, and to work together in support of our schools to ensure the best education possible. As your Superintendent, please know that I am dedicated to providing success for all students. Please know that I am available to meet with you so feel free to contact my office at 201-974-2004 or email me at crandina@sboe.us.

Remember to check the district and school websites, as well as Channel 34 to view important announcements, and highlights of school and district events as they take place throughout the school year. There are lots of great opportunities to get involved! So come on out and support our students and our schools!

Have a great school year!
