Important Election Dates
March 1, 2010
Nominating Petition Filing
Deadline
Nominating petitions must be filed with the secretary of the
board of education on or before 4:00PM of the 50th day preceding the date of
the election.
March 8, 2010
Withdrawal of Candidate
The 44th day preceding the election is the last day a candidate may withdraw
from a school election.
March 30, 2010
Last day to Register for School Election
The law provides that persons may register to vote up to the 21st day
preceding the annual school election.
April 13, 2010
Mail-In Ballot Applications by Mail
Last day to receive mail applications
for mail-in ballots.
April 19, 2010
Mail-In Ballot Applications in Person
Any registered voter who fails to
apply by mail, for mail-in ballot seven-days prior to the school election
may apply in person, or by authorized messenger if the voter is sick or
confined, to the county clerk on any day up to 3:00 p.m. of the day before
the election.
April 20, 2010
School Election Date
Annual school election in all districts. Polls will
be open between the hours of 1 and 9 p.m. and during any additional time
which the school board may designate between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
