Coffee With the Elementary Supervisor
Dr. Danielle Garzon, Elementary Supervisor of the Secaucus School District, successfully kicked off a monthly series of “Coffee with the Elementary Supervisor” with a presentation on the PARCC Assessment. Dr. Garzon’s presentation was titled “The Evolution of the PARCC Assessment, How it is Administered, What it Measures, and How to Understand and Interpret the Score Reports.” This coffee was held at Clarendon School, with approximately 20 parents in attendance. Dr. Garzon’s informative report commenced with review what PARCC was and what it stood for, then next proceeded to discussing goals of the PARCC assessment, dates the PARCC will be administered this spring, a sample parent report sample, interpreting score results, performance levels, and parent PARCC resources for parents. Throughout the hour-long presentation Dr. Garzon fielded questions posed by parents on a variety of topics. By the presentations end, a good deal of information about the PARCC assessment was disseminated to parents and a number of PARCC-related questions were fielded.
