R1.1    Approval: that the Secaucus Board of Education appoints the following candidates, contractual salaries and starting dates indicated for the 2008-2009 school year as recommended by the Superintendent of Schools.

R1.2    Approval: that the Secaucus Board of Education does hereby appoint the following individuals to the Fall 2009-2010 Coaching Positions recommended by the Superintendent of Schools, and

Be It Resolved: that compensation for these positions shall be contained in the Agreement between the Secaucus Education Association, Inc. and the Secaucus Board of Education and that no rights of tenure shall accrue by virtue of this appointment.

 

R1.3    Approval: that the Secaucus Board of Education does hereby appoint the individuals listed below to co-curricular positions for the 2008-2009 school year as recommended by the Superintendent of Schools, and

Michael Gehm           The Junior States of America Advisor

Be It Resolved: that compensation for these position shall be contained in the Agreement between the Secaucus Education Association, Inc. and the Secaucus Board of Education and that no rights of tenure shall accrue by virtue of this appointment.


 

 

R1.4    Approval: that the Secaucus Board of Education approves the annexed Field Trip requests.

2.1       Approval to authorize Faridy Veisz Fraytak to submit application for Alternative

            Energy Sources.

3.2       Approval of Budgetary Transfer Report for the month of January 2009.

3.4       Approval to rescind Petty Cash resolution dated January 22, 2009

            with South Jersey Energy Company (electric supplier).

            of School Bonds & Ordinance.

8.1       Approval for the first reading of mandatory policies 2460 and 2467

9.         Curriculum Committee:

R9.1    Approval: that the Secaucus Board of Education does hereby adopt the new Library Skills Curriculum K-6 providing a framework that will help teachers to integrate the Viewing and Media Literacy standards 3.5 into the Curriculum.

R9.2    Approval: that the Secaucus Board of Education does hereby adopt the Promethean Technology Active Classroom – a premier global interactive white board, assessment and curriculum solution for K-12.

R9.3    Approval: that the Secaucus Board of Education does hereby adopt the following pilot programs:

·         PTS3 - Progress Toward Standards Online Assessment  – 3rd Edition is a highly rigorous online reading and mathematics assessment for grades 3-8 and high school.

·         CPAA Children Progress Academic Success – to analyze data for student’s strengths and weaknesses in Math and Language Arts.
