THE SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON OUR STUDENTS!

FRANKLIN INSTITUTE VISITS CLARENDON SCHOOL

Clarendon School students, grades 3-5, were treated to an exciting weather show by Pete DeCarolis from the Franklin Institute of Philadelphia courtesy of the PTA.  Student volunteers helped Pete present concepts in how storms are created. They discussed these concepts of heating of the earth’s atmosphere by convection, air pressure, humidity, and precipitation. Through awesome experimental demonstrations students also learned how hurricanes and tornadoes are formed. Students not only learned much about weather through the Franklin Institute and the PTA but they learned that science is interesting and fun.
