Dear Secaucus Families,

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday and break.

The Secaucus School District is proceeding with their announced plans for half-days from Monday, January 3rd to Friday, January 7th in all schools. No lunch will be served/provided and no snacks will be eaten in the classrooms during this first week back from break so we can minimize mask removal while the COVID-19 cases in our area and state continue to rise at unprecedented levels.

For our planning purposes, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ANY STUDENT WHO TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID BY PCR TEST NOTIFIES THEIR SCHOOL PRINCIPAL AND SCHOOL NURSE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. This information will be confidential and will assist us in determining our schedule going forward. BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR CHILD'S FULL NAME AND GRADE LEVEL.

While I cannot predict what will happen in the upcoming weeks, regarding the state of the pandemic or the cases in our district, I can assure you that we will do everything in our power to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among staff and students in our school buildings. However, you must also do your part. If your child is sick and experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please DO NOT send them to school.

Your cooperation and understanding regarding our plans are greatly appreciated. I wish you all the best in the upcoming new year.

Be well,

Dr. Daniela Riser

Acting Superintendent
