Good Afternoon Secaucus Families,

I hope everyone is doing well. For the second week in a row, our district COVID-19 cases have decreased, consistent with cases trending downward across the state.

The number of positive cases in our district is as follows:

  • High School: 6 students, 1 staff member
  • Middle School: 1 students, 3 staff members
  • Clarendon: 1 student
  • Huber Street/Millridge: 1 student, 2 staff members

These 15 cases bring our district's total to 594 positive COVID-19 cases for the school year. As per our Isolation/Quarantine guidance in our Safe Return Plan, we will continue to notify anyone who has been “exposed” to these positive cases through a phone call or a Realtime notification. We will also continue to ensure that our buildings are cleaned and disinfected properly, and we encourage all of our students to practice proper handwashing to minimize the spread of all contagious diseases.

The Parent Communication Form is still open for questions and can be accessed here: https://forms.gle/wFy9mQYpd1HdzRuk7. There is also an easy-to-use button on the www.sboe.org home page that you can click that will lead you straight to the form. We welcome all questions! Our next FAQ can be found below!

Take Care and Enjoy the Weekend,

Dr. Daniela Riser

Acting Superintendent

Frequently Asked Questions, Part 19

____________________________________________________________

Our Parent Communication Form is still open! If there are any questions you would like to ask the district administration, please visit this link to ask: https://forms.gle/Xcx1QzgPN52JFH6DA

Q: As cases are on the rise can you please tell me why we aren’t adjusting a come back plan after the holiday to wear mask to insure our children and staff. Last week it was mentioned that we may adjust our return from holiday plan?

A: Over the past few weeks, our district cases have actually declined. We have been in close contact with our local and county covid specialists to determine our Safe Return Plan alterations going forward. While masks will not be mandatory for the remainder of this school year, we welcome any staff member or student to continue wearing masks for their own safety if they choose to do so.

Q: Hi, my child will be entering kindergarten this year. I have missed the cut off dates, is it too late to register my child ?

A: No, it is not too late. Please contact an elementary school to determine what school your child will attend and they can give you information about registration for the upcoming school year. Huber Street school is (201) 974-2000 x2242 and Clarendon School is (201) 974-2000 x2452.
